What Have I Been Up To?
Long time no see, my friends. In all honesty, I’ve been struggling to find the motivation to write another post. Often I’m home, with mostly dead air broken up by occasional errands to fill the void. I’m constantly trying to find the inspiration to create, most o the time missing that spark. One thing I realised is that you can’t wait for the right moment to start creating. The best thing to do is get something shitty out first and work out the kinks later. Thus, this post is being shat out to get the ball rolling. Unlike my previous posts – which were more organised and focused on a single topic – I’d like to discuss a few in relatively short bursts.
Keyboards!!!
As maybe like… one of you guys may be able to surmise, I like keyboards. (I’ll probably post an article going over my keyboard/mouse collection, although I wouldn’t tell you guys to be optimistic, as I don’t have too many interesting entries.)
In recent keyboard news, I have done some work on my 36-key Corne to make it a little easier for me to use normally, and it has made me realise that I generally prefer lower profile keys over standard MX switches. Despite this, I made the decision to buy a used Kinesis Advantage 2 off of eBay. While I am stoked, I didn’t realise until after I made my purchase that Kinesis’ ergonomic keyboards – besides the Advantage 360 Pro – does not support QMK/ZMK firmware without replacing the internal microcontroller; meaning I cannot have my custom keybindings with home row mods, layers, and combos without having to use software remapping tools like Kanata. I suppose I will have to work on creating an efficient layout once I get it in the mail. I’ll definitely be giving the board a written review.

Server Stuff
While I’ll probably write a fully-fledged post on my current homelab setup, for now I’ll mention that I got a fairly beefy dekstop I plan on turning into somewhat of a workhorse NixOS server. It’s an HP Prodesk or something, with a 6c/12t Intel chip and what was originally 8GB of RAM, which I upgraded with two added 16GB sticks to bring the total to about 40GB. Fairly beefy, albeit kind of lacking in the CPU department. Currently I plan on running a Jellyfin servr for my music and videos. I have a 3TB hard drive plugged into it, which will likely become the storage for all that stuff. I’ll keep you guys updated when I get everything deployed.
On Chainsaw Man Ending
As some may know, the popular manga Chainsaw Man ended on March 24th with its final chapter. If you couldn’t tell by my home page, I like CSM and am fairly invested in it. So when I read the final chapter last night, I was left with mixed feelings.
WARNING! I'm gonna spoil the FUCK out of the manga so BEWARE!!!
Seeing Denji basically have his life mostly reset back to pre-gun devil arc (with continuity changes) was kind of interesting, but it felt like it all came out of nowhere. It's obvious that if we saw Denji return to the original timeline ALIVE he would simply end up dying somehow since he no longer has Pochita; not to mention the world being in absolute chaos at that point. I feel even *that* would've brought enough closure in the sense that things would be more coherent. At the same time though, I feel as though this ending isn't entirely devoid of meaning either. Pochita said it succinctly before eating himself: Denji can only find happiness in calamity. His yearning for comfort through putting himself in such situations essentially brought forth the end of the world, and in the end he needs to find meaning in living a simple life. This is what makes Pochita's sacrifice noble and worthwhile. While Denji will likely never be Chainsaw Man again, he will at least be able to build a life that he is comfortable with. It's a nice send off, but gives the ending more of a fanservicey feel to it, rather than a grounded conclusion with more significant loose ends tied off for good measure. I guess the mythos within CSM prohibit things being completely answerable though. It sort of defeats the purpose of leaving things up to interpretation, no? Anyhow, 10/10 manga, would suffer again.

Future Plans For The Site
Not much to put under this section besides another promise to write more. I don’t want to host a site that I do absolutely nothing with besides a jumbled mess of an update every few months. The soonest post I’m likely to make is my Kinesis Advantage 2 review, which will probably come within a week and a half. I’ll try to do a write up when I’ve used it for about a week or so. Who knows? Maybe I’ll also do a long-term review if I feel like it. Any which way, I’ll see you when I see you. Lulu out.
